  • TH 的发音:英语学习者的终极指南

TH Pronunciation | The ULTIMATE Guide for English Learners!

Well hey there I’m Emma from mmmEnglish!
    这节课 我们将一起学习
In this lesson, I’ll go over the pronunciation
    “th”
    的发音
    of the ‘th’ sounds.
    我会告诉你如何发“th”的音
I’ll remind you how to make the sounds
    因为实际上 字母“th”有两种发音
because actually there are two sounds made by the letters ‘th’
    同时 我会给你提供一些指导
and I’ll give you some guidelines
    让你知道什么时候该发什么音
to help you to decide when to use each sound.
    更重要的是 我们要练习“th”在句子中的发音
And more importantly, we’ll practise using these sounds in sentences
    因为那样是有点难度的
because that’s when it gets tricky.
    在我们开始之前
    Before we get started,
    我想先感谢订阅我频道的新观众
I want to say a huge welcome to my newest subscribers
    希望我们能共度这段愉快的英语之旅
I’m looking forward to taking you on an English language journey.

then you can do it just by hitting that red subscribe button right there.
    其实“th”的发音是很常见的
Okay so the ‘th’ sounds are really common,
    在英语中非常常见
    really common in English
    但是其他的语言不太会用到这种发音
though not many other languages use these sounds.
    所以 如果你发不好这个音
So if you’re having trouble pronouncing the ‘th’ sounds,
    也不用太难过 因为你绝对不是一个人
then don’t feel bad about it, you’re definitely not alone.
    但好消息是 你完全可以改善自己的发音
But the good news is you can improve this sound
    并且发音时会更加自然
and you can start to feel more natural as you are using it,
    但你一定要下定决心
    but you have to commit!
    提高发音水平就像去健身房锻炼
Improving your pronunciation is like going to the gym.
    刚开始的时候 你会感觉自己弱爆了
The first time, you’re gonna suck at it.
    但当你健身次数增加
But each time that you go back
    你锻炼肌肉的次数也随之增加
and you work those muscles a little bit more,
    运动过程会变得更轻松 你也会更自信
the easier it will get and the better you’ll feel about yourself,
    对吧?
    right?
    所以请记住 舌头也是肌肉
So remember, that the tongue is also a muscle
    你需要去强化它 去锻炼它
and you need to strengthen it, you need to workout.
    先让我们来回顾一下舌头的位置
So let’s review the position of the tongue.
    张开你的嘴巴并伸出舌头
Open your mouth and push your tongue through,
    只要一点点就好 不要这样 要像这样
just a little, not like this, like this.
    如果你不知道舌头该放在哪里的话 把你的手指放在唇边
Put your finger there if you’re unsure about where to stop your tongue.
    注意舌头并不是完全的放松
Notice that the tongue is not completely relaxed,
    要有一点紧绷感
    there’s a little tension.
    如果用你的舌头去摩擦牙齿底部
If you rub the bottom of your teeth with your tongue,
    你就能感觉到你的舌头在用力对吗?
can you feel the tension in your tongue?
    这跟你要发“th”音时
This is the same amount of tension that you need to
    所需要的力度是一样的
    hold the ‘th’ position.
    舌头不是完全放松的 而是抬起的
The tongue is not completely relaxed, it’s lifted
    并且要滑过你嘴巴的中间位置
and running through the middle of your mouth.
    如果舌头在嘴巴里的位置太高
If your tongue is too high in the mouth,
    抬起到你的牙齿后面 你会发出 /t/ /d/ 的音
up behind your teeth, you’ll make that /t/ or /d/ sound.
    如果舌头没有穿过你的齿间
And if your tongue is not coming through your teeth,
    而是缩在口腔里面
    if you keep it inside,
    你会发出 /s/ /z/ 的音
    you’ll make a /s/ or a /z/ sound.
    所以你真的一定要注意舌尖的位置
So you really must pay attention to the tip
    它必须位于你的齿间
of your tongue, it must come through between your teeth.
    正如我提到的 有两种“th”的发音
Now as I mentioned, there are two ‘th’ sounds,
    一种浊音和一种清音
a voiced sound and an unvoiced sound.
    这两种发音用的都是
Now both of these sounds use exactly
    同一种嘴型
    the same mouth position.
    只是它们的发声部位不同
It’s just that the sound comes from a different place.
    浊辅音的发声用到了声带
Voiced consonant sounds are made using the vocal cords.
    因此一旦你将牙齿和嘴型摆到位了
So once you’ve got your teeth and your mouth in
    并从这里发出声音
position and you make a sound here,
    你应该会感觉到嗡嗡的震动
    you should feel a buzzing.
    你的舌头甚至会有一丝丝发痒
It might even tickle your tongue a little.
    清辅音是空气穿过你的嘴巴
Unvoiced consonant sounds are made by air
    而产生的声音
    pushing through your mouth.
    是空气的震动产生了声音
So it’s the air that creates the sound.
    因此将你的舌头和嘴巴
So keep your tongue and your mouth
    放到相同的位置
    in the same position,
    确保你将一些空气吸入肺中
make sure you’ve got some air in your lungs
    然后将空气吐出
    and push the air through.
    这就是清音的“th”
So this is the unvoiced ‘th’ sound.
    那么什么时候使用
So when should you use the voiced
    清音或是浊音呢?
    or the unvoiced sound?
    这是一个好问题 因为这两种发音
That’s a great question because both sounds are represented
    都用同样的字母表示
    by the same letters.
    我希望我能够给你一个简单的答案
And I wish I had a simple answer for you,
    我知道你们想要我简单的解释
I know that you like it when I have a simple explanation
    为什么这个规则是这样的
of why this rule is like that
    以及什么时候该怎么发音
and when you should use it.
    但很不幸 “th”的发音
    but unfortunately in this situation,
    有很多的例外
    there are lots of exceptions.
    但是仍有一些参考
    But there are some guidelines
    是我准备与你们分享的
that I’m going to share with you,
    一些会帮助你做决定
guides that will help you to make a decision
    并帮你正确地发出“th”的指导
and help you to use the correct ‘th’ sound.
    记住它们只是参考 而不是规定
    Remember they’re guides, not rules
    那么先让我们来看一下清音
but let’s focus on the unvoiced sound first,
    因空气产生的清音
    made with air.
    那么一个由“th”开头的实词
So a ‘th’ at the beginning of content words
    通常发的是清音
is usually an unvoiced ‘th’ sound.
    实词是在句子中
So content words are words that provide
    提供具体意义的词
    the meaning in a sentence.
    分为名词 动词 形容词 副词
There are nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs.
    比如单词“think” “thought” “thirsty”
Words like ‘think’ and ‘thought’ and ‘thirsty’
    还有“thankful”“theory”
    and ‘thankful’ and ‘theory’.
    “th”
    开头的单词
So the ‘th’ at the start of content words
    通常是清音
    is usually unvoiced.
    如果“th”出现在了一个词的中间部分
Now if there is a ‘th’ in the middle of a word,
    并且在一个辅音之前 那么它通常是发清音
before a consonant, it’s usually unvoiced.
    “bathtub” “faithful” “worthless”
    ‘bathtub’ ‘faithful’ ‘worthless’
    同样的 一个在单词末尾的“th”通常是清音
And a ‘th’ at the end of a word is usually unvoiced.
    “month” “strength” “warmth” “teeth” “fifth”
    ‘month’ ‘strength’ ‘warmth’ ‘teeth’ ‘fifth’
    当然还有些例外的
    There are some exceptions though.
    过一会儿我将会说到这些
And I’m going to talk about those in just a minute.
    现在再来看看发浊音的“th”
    Now the voiced ‘th’ sound
    你的声带产生的“th”
    made using your vocal cords.
    如果是“th”在单词首位的结构词
So if there’s a ‘th’ at the beginning of a structure word
    它们通常是发浊音的
    they’re usually voiced.
    结构词
    So structure words
    有时候也叫功能词 跟实词不同
sometimes called function words, are different to content words
    因为它们在句子中没有太多的意义
because they don’t have a lot of meaning in English sentences.
    它们是语法词
    They’re grammatical words.
    不会给我们太多的信息
They don’t tell us a lot of information,
    但是它们在英语句子的结构中有很重要的作用
but they’re important to the structure of English sentences.
    结构词 “this” “that” “those”
So structure words are words like ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘those’,
    “these” “the” “there” “then”
    或者是“than”
‘these’, ‘the’, ‘there’, ‘then’ or ‘than’
    所以以上所有的词
So all of these words, I mean,
    一些是非常
some of these words are very,
    非常常见的英文单词 对吧?
    very, common English words, right?
    它们非常非常普遍
    They’re very, very common.
    如果你想将英语说得自然些
So learning to pronounce the different ‘th’ sounds
    学好如何去发不同的 “th”音是非常重要的
is really important if you want to sound natural when you speak English.
    这之间是有显著差异的
    There is a noticeable difference.
    如果这个词的“th”是位于词中 当它处于
Now a ‘th’ in the middle of the word, when it’s between
    两个元音之间时 那么这通常发的是浊音
two vowel sounds, is usually this voiced sound.
    “bother” “worthy” “mother”
    ‘bother’ ‘worthy’ ‘mother’
    刚刚说到的 “th”放在词尾时
Now I said the ‘th’ is usually unvoiced
    通常发清音 但是也有例外
at the end of words, but except
    如果这个词的结尾是“-the”就要发浊音
if the word ends in ‘-the’
    比如“bathe” “breathe”还有“loathe”
    like ‘bathe’, ‘breathe’ and ‘loathe’.
    这些都是非常不错的参考原则
So these are pretty good guides
    但总是会有例外的情况 不是吗?
but there are always exceptions, aren’t there?
    英语啊!
    English! Eh!
    有像“smoth”
    There are exceptions like ‘smooth’
    “clothes”
    还有“frothy”这样的例外
    and ‘clothes’ and ‘frothy’.
    以上这些单词都违反了这条规则
All of these words are breaking the rules
    还有很多
    and there are more!
    如果你还能想出更多这样的例子
Actually if you can think of any more,
    请在评论区留言
please add them to the comments so that we can talk
    我们一起来讨论这样的例外
about some of the exceptions in the comments.
    好了 现在你已经完成这节课的大部分内容了
But anyway, now that you’ve got through most of these guidelines,
    是时候练习一下
    it’s time to practise.
    我希望你能够重复我说的内容
So I want you to repeat after me.
    “Throw those things”
    Throw those things.
    “Throw those things to Theo”
    Throw those things to Theo.
    “There are three of them”
    There are three of them.
“There are three of them over there”
There are three of them over there.
    准备好了吗?
    Ready for this one?
    “At three thirty on Thursday”
    At three thirty on Thursday,
“a thousand of those thrilling thinkers will gather”
a thousand of those thrilling thinkers will gather.
    “At three thirty on Thursday”
    At three thirty on Thursday,
“a thousand of those thrilling thinkers will gather”
a thousand of those thrilling thinkers will gather.
    我喜欢绕口令!
